The Prescriber software allowed doctors to download drug information from the internet and then hot-sync that information to their palm pilots. The package also included a small printer that had a wireless connection to their palm pilot, so they could easily print out their patient's prescriptions. (see illustrations section)
This CD would not be widely distributed, so the packaging had to be relatively inexpensive, but still maintain the high-quality "look and feel" Medscape customers were use to. The CD label was printed with a special inkjet process instead of silk-screened. A label was created for the box cover so they could use a generic box. I took the photo of the palm pilot to include in the artwork.
